The Carbon of Compute connector at mcp.carbonofcompute.com is operated by REEL LCI (Scope Creep, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company doing business as REEL LCI) and offered free of charge. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the connector.

1. The figures

Carbon of Compute provides modeled carbon-footprint and water-consumption estimates for informational and research purposes. Results depend on the workload, system boundary and assumptions; they are not measurements of a specific deployment or a substitute for a verified assessment. Model footprint results come with low and high values. The range between them does not cover every source of uncertainty, and many component and factor values are single central values. Before you use a figure in an emissions inventory, we advise checking how your deployment differs from the one modeled.

2. Licence and attribution

The figures calculated by Carbon of Compute are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). When you share a figure, credit it as shown under "Cite this explorer" on carbonofcompute.com, link to the licence, and say if you changed the figure. Values quoted from other publishers, such as a vendor's product carbon footprint, are given for reference. These terms cover use of the connector; they do not limit what CC BY 4.0 lets you do with the figures.

3. No endorsement

Do not represent, expressly or by implication, that any result, study or product that uses these figures has been reviewed, verified or endorsed by REEL LCI or the authors of Carbon of Compute.

4. Using the service

Do not use the connector in a way that disrupts it for others, for example by sending very large numbers of requests. Access may be limited or withdrawn to protect the service. The connector may change or stop at any time.

5. Disclaimer and liability

All estimates, data, calculations and methods are provided "AS IS", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. REEL LCI and the authors of Carbon of Compute make no representations regarding their completeness, accuracy or reliability. Users are responsible for independently verifying results and their suitability before relying on them for reporting or other decisions. To the extent permitted by applicable law, REEL LCI and the authors shall not be liable for damages or losses arising from reliance on this information or from use of the connector. Third-party websites linked from the connector's answers or pages are outside REEL LCI's control.

6. Changes and contact

REEL LCI may update these terms; the date at the top of this page changes when it does. Continued use of the connector after a change means you accept the updated terms. A change does not withdraw the CC BY 4.0 licence on figures you have already received. Questions go to info@reellci.com.
